William Worek

William Worek is a highly experienced professional in the field of energy and energy systems, currently serving as a Senior Building Scientist and Argonne Associate at Argonne National Laboratory since August 2021. Previously, William held various academic leadership positions, including Professor and Executive Director at Texas A&M University-Kingsville, Associate Dean of Research and Graduate Studies at Stony Brook University, and Dean of Engineering at Michigan Technological University. William’s extensive tenure at the University of Illinois at Chicago included roles as Professor, Department Head of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, and Director of the Energy Resources Center. William holds a Ph.D. and an M.S. in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering as well as a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, all from the Illinois Institute of Technology.
