Pascale M. Thomas currently serves as Deputy General Counsel at Ariel Investments and Chief Compliance Officer at Ariel Alternatives since May 2023. Prior to these roles, Pascale was Deputy General Counsel and Deputy Chief Compliance Officer at Makena Capital Management, LLC from November 2018 to October 2022, and Managing Director & Assistant General Counsel at Z Capital Group, L.L.C. from July 2013 to September 2018. Pascale's experience also includes serving as an Associate focused on Investment Products and Derivatives at Sidley Austin LLP from September 2008 to June 2013, alongside earlier summer associate positions at Sidley Austin and Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP. Pascale holds a Juris Doctor degree from Harvard Law School (2005-2008) and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Biological Anthropology & Anatomy from Duke University (2001-2005). Pascale completed secondary education at John Burroughs School (1995-2001).
