Jacob Thomas

Jacob Thomas has an extensive work experience in the events and technology space. Jacob began their career in 2009 as the Production Manager at HQ Complex, where they designed, installed, and managed audio-visual systems, and served as an artist on-site liaison. Later that year, they became the Managing Director of Final Call Pty Ltd, where they defined business goals to determine systems requirements, provided client support on system operation and troubleshooting, and supported system developers. In 2009, Jacob also joined Novatech Creative Event Technology as the Venue Services Manager, where they were responsible for management, service, troubleshooting, legal reporting, PPSA, and contract negotiations. Jacob also maintained client relationships, liaised with varying members of the events circuit, and provided event planning assistance for venues spread across South Australia. In 2015, Jacob founded Doogie Consulting, a technical and strategic consulting firm within the IT and medical educational conferencing space. In 2017, they became the Co-Founder and Chief Innovation Officer of Joyn (formerly Delegate Connect), a global events platform delivering hybrid, virtual, and in-person events.

Jacob Thomas has an extensive educational background. Jacob obtained their IB Diploma from Prince Alfred College in 2009. In 2014, they completed a Diploma of Work Health and Safety from Jumbo Safety Training. Jacob then went on to earn a Diploma of Business & Management from Foundation Education (RTO 22557) in 2016. That same year, they also obtained four certifications from VMWare, Management and Strategy Institute, and Apple. In 2017, they earned an Advanced Diploma of Event Management from Australia Institute of Business & Technology. Finally, they completed a Graduate Certificate of Information Technology and Strategic Management from Get Qualified Australia in 2018, as well as a Graduate Diploma of Strategic Leadership from Australia Institute of Business & Technology.
