Ólafur Viðarsson

Ólafur Viðarsson has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Ólafur started their career at OMX as a Specialist on the Trading floor, where they worked from June 1997 to August 2003. Ólafur then moved on to Glitnir as an Executive Director in Market Risk from February 2006 to October 2008. Ólafur continued their career at Islandsbanki as a Director in Market Risk from October 2008 to December 2011. During this time, they were also a Co-owner and CEO of NMP ehf., a startup company in the tourist industry from December 2011 to December 2017. Following this, they joined Landsbankinn as an Account Manager in Corporate Banking, responsible for managing relationships with corporate clients and providing various banking services, including lending, guarantees, letters of credit, and deposits. Ólafur held this role from September 2012 to August 2022. Currently, they work at Arion banki as an Account Manager in Corporate and Investment Banking, starting in July 2022.

Ólafur Viðarsson has a strong background in finance and international business. Ólafur started their education at Háskóli Íslands, where they pursued a Cand Oecon degree in Finance. Ólafur attended this institution from 1994 to 1998. Later on, they decided to further their education at Aarhus University, where they obtained a Master of Science degree (M.Sc.) in Finance and International Business. This degree was earned between 2003 and 2005. In addition to their academic achievements, Ólafur Viðarsson has also obtained certifications to enhance their professional expertise. Ólafur completed the CQF certification program at Fitch Learning in 2008.
