Sumner Shagari Sambo

Sumner Shagari Sambo is an experienced media professional currently serving as the Director of News & Politics Editor at ARISE News, a premier news channel focused on Nigeria and Africa. Previously, Sumner held the position of Political Editor at News Central TV and has extensive reporting experience as a Senior Correspondent at TVC COMMUNICATIONS and as a Broadcast Journalist for Reuters News Agency. Sumner also worked as a Senior National Correspondent for NN24, covering significant areas of Nigeria. Earlier in their career, Sumner contributed as a Production Sub-Editor for The Nation newspaper. Sumner holds an M.Sc and B.Sc in Mass Communication from Ahmadu Bello University and completed a course in Cinematography at the National Film Institute. Sumner is also pursuing membership with the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations.
