Emily Estes-Cross has a diverse professional background ranging from owning their own businesses to working in marketing and economic development roles. Emily currently specializes in writing performance audit reports for the Arizona Auditor General and previously held positions in public information and economic development in various cities. Emily holds a Master of Science in Communication Studies from Minnesota State University, Mankato, a Bachelor of Science in Urban Planning from Arizona State University, a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Washington State University, and completed Master's of Science coursework in Technical Communication at Colorado State University.

The Arizona Office of the Auditor General… Who We Are—We serve as the State’s “watchdog” by making sure agencies, counties, universities, community college districts, and school districts are using their resources (taxpayer dollars) appropriately and effectively. Our Work—Our auditors and investigators perform highly specific work and research in response to State laws and legislative requests, and produce impactful reports with recommendations for improvements. Most of these recommendations are implemented, which results in better government for Arizona citizens.
