Jennifer Minson has a diverse work experience that spans various sectors. Jennifer began their career as a Research Assistant at Gallaudet University, where they worked on an NIH-sponsored grant studying lip reading. Jennifer then went on to work as a Grants Specialist in the Office of Sponsored Programs at the same university. In 1992, they transitioned to a different field and worked as a Sales Clerk at Family Christian for over a decade. In 2014, they started a job as a Caregiver at Home Instead Senior Care before becoming a Teaching Assistant at Great Hearts Academies later that year. From 2015 to 2017, Jennifer worked as a Special Education Teacher at a Public-Private Day school in the Mesa Public School District. Jennifer gained experience in writing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and teaching students with a variety of special needs, such as Autism, Emotional Disabilities, and Specific Learning Disabilities. Jennifer then moved on to become a part of the Arizona Autism Charter Schools, first as a Special Education Teacher and Service Coordinator and then as a Special Education Program Manager for the Middle School. Currently, they hold the position of Assistant Director of Special Education at the same organization.
Jennifer Minson received a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Boston College, where they studied from 1987 to 1991. Jennifer then went on to pursue a Master of Arts degree in Multiple Disabilities/Deaf Education at Gallaudet University from 1991 to 1993. In addition to their formal education, Jennifer has obtained certifications in Youth Mental Health First Aid from the National Council for Mental Wellbeing in February 2022 and in Special Education teaching from the Arizona Department of Education.
