Michael Denney

Michael Denney is an experienced legal and law enforcement professional with a diverse background. Currently serving as Deputy County Attorney for Maricopa County, Michael has held various roles at the Arizona Department of Public Safety since September 1973, including Captain, Lieutenant, Sergeant, and Officer, with a focus on intelligence, criminal investigations, special operations, and organizational management. In addition, Michael was the Section Chief at the Arizona Attorney General's Office from March 2015 to October 2015, overseeing protective services operations for the western half of Arizona, and served as Assistant Chief of Police and Commander at the Mesa Police Department from November 2007 to May 2011. Michael holds a Doctor of Law (J.D.) degree and a Jurisdicition Dictorate in Law from Arizona State University College of Law, graduating in 2000.
