David Proffitt, Ph.D., currently serves as a Senior Research Project Manager at the Arizona Department of Transportation since November 2022. Prior to this role, David was a Research and Development Program Manager at Metro Analytics and a Postdoctoral Research Scholar at Arizona State University. David's research has focused on climate change solutions, including developing curricula for university courses and evaluating greenhouse gas emissions reduction efforts in transportation. David has held positions at various institutions, including a fellowship with the National Council for Science and the Environment, a Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Utah, and has experience in urban planning, journalism, and sustainability research. David holds a Ph.D. in Metropolitan Planning, Policy, and Design from the University of Utah, along with multiple master's degrees and a bachelor's degree in English literature from Arizona State University.
