Melvin Brender has over two decades of experience in human resources and learning development, currently serving as the Learning and Development Manager at the Arizona Department of Transportation since May 2011. In this role, Melvin specializes in the implementation of initiatives aligned with the agency's strategic learning and development plan. Prior to this position, Melvin was the Human Resources Manager at the Arizona Department of Administration from June 2003 to November 2012, where responsibilities included providing HR guidance to approximately 34,000 state employees. Earlier experience includes serving as a Human Resources Analyst within the Arizona State Employee Relations Office and as a Training Specialist/HR Coordinator at Bechtel. Melvin holds a B.S. in Business Management from Arizona State University and has participated in an HRCI Prep Class.
