John McGowen

John McGowen serves as the Portfolio Manager for Research at Arizona State University's Office of Knowledge Enterprise Development, a position held since August 2005, where responsibilities include the integration of project management best practices within an academic research environment. Additionally, John has held the role of Director of Operations and Program Management at the Arizona Center for Algae Technology and Innovation since April 2010, managing program budgets and project implementation for the Department of Energy. Prior to these roles, John worked as a Staff Scientist at GE Healthcare and held several positions at Motorola Life Sciences, including Senior Staff Scientist and Section Manager. John holds a Ph.D. in Polymer Science from The University of Southern Mississippi and a B.S. in Chemistry from St. Norbert College.
