Julie Thomas has a diverse work experience. Julie started their career as the Director of Marketing and Engagement for Arkansas PBS, where they led a team in managing marketing, promotions, graphic design, digital media, and engagement. Julie then moved on to work for the American Red Cross as an International Communication Associate, where they created and executed communications strategies for the Measles Initiative, a global health effort. Julie worked with four founding partners to plan, communicate, and promote the initiative.

Julie Thomas received their Bachelor's degree in Journalism and Public Relations from The University of Texas at Austin. Julie graduated from the university in 1993 after studying there from 1989 to 1993.
