Kristin Adolfsen has a diverse work experience spanning over multiple companies and roles.
Starting in 2005, they worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Penn State University until 2006. Kristin returned to Penn State as an Undergraduate Research Assistant from 2009 to 2010.
In 2010, they joined Princeton University as a PhD Candidate and Assistant in Instruction. Kristin'sresearch focused on increasing hydrogen peroxide production and sensitivity to oxidative stress in E. coli. Kristin also constructed a quantitative kinetic model of hydrogen peroxide detoxification in E. coli. Kristin'sstudies involved combining kinetic modeling and experimental validation to understand hydrogen peroxide and nitric oxide detoxification.
From 2016 to 2020, Kristin worked at enEvolv as a Lead Strain Engineer. Kristin then transitioned to Zymergen, Inc. where they served as a Scientist III from 2020 to 2022 and as a Senior Scientist from 2022 to 2022.
Currently, Kristin Adolfsen is working at ArkeaBio as the Head of Screening and Selection since December 2022. Before that, they worked as an Independent Consultant, focusing on screening, from November to December 2022.
Kristin Adolfsen attended Penn State University from 2005 to 2010, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering. Following their undergraduate studies, they pursued further education at Princeton University from 2010 to 2016. There, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Chemical and Biological Engineering.
