Tara York

Tara York is an experienced educator with a diverse background in teaching and leadership roles within the Arlington Independent School District since August 2016, currently serving as a Fifth Grade Teacher, Team Lead, District Lead Teacher, and Wellness Champion. Prior to this, Tara taught 5th grade English/Language Arts and Social Studies at Village Tech Schools and held the position of Executive Director at United Way of Stephens County, where volunteer recruitment was a key focus. Tara's teaching career began in 2007 with Duncan Public Schools, where a significant portion of time was spent teaching 5th grade. Additional experience includes customer service roles at Iscar Metals and the City of Arlington, as well as providing respite care for children with special needs at MHMR of Tarrant County. Educational credentials include a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma.
