Richard Buttrey

Richard Buttrey serves as the Director of Academic Programs at Arm since October 2019, where the focus is on accelerating academic innovation through the provision of intellectual property, tools, and educational resources. Prior to this role, Richard held the position of Client Director at Møller Institute, leading business development and executive education programs, and achieved a significant contract with Suntory in Japan. Richard's experience also includes a role as Industry Engagement Lead for the Government Digital Service, promoting digital transformation in public services, and a lengthy tenure in the Diplomatic Service, where Richard worked on policy and trade issues across various countries. Earlier experience includes a research scholarship at the Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation and participation in the Civil Service Fast Stream, focusing on cyber-security and crisis response. Richard holds an undergraduate master's degree from the University of Oxford in Physics and a certification in Coaching from the University of Cambridge.
