Thomas Elmer is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in microprocessor and microcontroller design. Currently serving as a Principal Engineer at Arm since March 2020, Thomas previously worked at Annapurna Labs - Amazon Web Services from 2017 to December 2019, focusing on arithmetic microarchitecture and the design of AWS's first machine learning chip, Inferentia. Thomas's earlier roles include significant contributions to Centaur Technology as a Microprocessor Design Engineer for two decades, where expertise encompassed various floating point designs. Prior to that, positions at Motorola and National Semiconductor involved design and implementation of critical components for PowerPC processors and CMOS microcontrollers, respectively. Thomas holds a degree in Computer Engineering, graduating with Highest Honors from Rochester Institute of Technology in 1988.
