Mirek Baudys has extensive work experience in the field of pharmaceuticals and drug formulation. Mirek started their career as a Principal Investigator at the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry in 1988. Mirek then worked as a Research Associate at the University of Utah from 1991 to 1994, where they managed research projects and designed solid formulations for oral drug delivery. From 1994 to 1997, they were a Research Assistant Professor at the University of Utah, overseeing projects related to PEG-insulin and glycosylated insulin conjugates. At the same university, from 1997 to 1999, they held the position of Research Associate Professor, where they developed PEG-insulin conjugates and designed injectable depot dosage forms for sustained delivery of protein drugs.
In 1998, Mirek joined MacroMed, Inc as a Senior Scientist, where they were responsible for protein and hydrophobic drug formulation and delivery. Mirek used analytical tools to assess the properties of proteins, developed biodegradable and temperature-sensitive polymers for drug solubilization and release, and conducted PK profiling analysis. Mirek stayed with MacroMed, Inc until 2005.
From 2005 to 2011, Mirek worked at Altea Therapeutics, Inc as a Senior Scientist and then as a Principal Scientist. During this time, they contributed to various projects related to drug development.
In 2012, Mirek joined Armata Pharmaceuticals, Inc as a Scientific Director. Mirek continues to hold this position, contributing their expertise in pharmaceutical research and development.
Mirek Baudys completed their M.Sc in Chemistry (with honors) from Charles University in an unspecified year prior to 1979. Afterwards, they pursued a Ph.D in Biochemistry with a specialization in Protein Chemistry at the Czech Academy of Sciences from 1982 to 1986. Following their doctoral studies, they worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Oxford from 1988 to 1989, focusing on Protein Crystallography.
