Rachel Porter

Rachel Porter is an experienced research engineer currently working at CARRT (RRT Prosthetics Lab) since August 2016, specializing in data processing for prosthetic devices using Vicon and Visual3D. Prior experience includes roles as a crew member at Barnes and Noble Book Store, where assistance was provided to students, and a manufacturing engineer at Jabil, focusing on optimizing part assembly processes. Additionally, Rachel served as a test technician and mechanical design technician at Sensor Systems LLC, where encoders were built for military applications, and as an intern at Qtm Inc, where an efficient inventory system for construction fasteners was implemented. Earlier career experience also includes research engineering for the Center for Assistive, Rehabilitation and Robotics Technologies, contributing to a robotic system for assisting disabled individuals. Rachel holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of South Florida.
