Thomas Hanna

Thomas Hanna serves as the Communications Manager at Arnold Ventures since November 2022 while simultaneously holding the position of President and Founder at the Institute for a Democratic Economy and Society. Hanna has significant advisory roles as a member of the Board of Advisors for the Public Banking Institute, the European Research Council project on Global Remunicipalisation, and Public Bank East Bay, all since 2019. Previously, Hanna was the Vice President at the National Center for Economic and Security Alternatives from November 2020 to October 2022 and spent over a decade at The Democracy Collaborative, culminating in the role of Director of Research. Educational qualifications include ongoing doctoral studies in Political Economy at the University of Glasgow Adam Smith Business School, alongside a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in History from Virginia Commonwealth University. Prior experiences also include working as a legal assistant and teacher.
