Mark Roy has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Mark began their career as the Sr. Manager of Media Relations at DLA Piper LLP (US), where they oversaw media relations for the Americas. Mark then joined Hogan Lovells as the Head of Communications, where they successfully increased brand awareness and built a world-class marketing communications team. Mark later served as the Director of Marketing & Business Development at Hughes Hubbard & Reed LLP, where they implemented innovative marketing strategies and launched new initiatives. Mark then moved on to Thomson Reuters as the Vice President of Business Communications, leading a team responsible for all internal and external communications for the global Legal business. Mark also worked as the Director of Media Relations at Duane Morris LLP before transitioning to the role of Director of Communications at The WNET Group, where they shaped institutional messaging and led strategic communication efforts. In 2018, Mark founded their own consulting firm, Breakthrough Consulting Group LLC, and served as the Founder and Principal. Mark also worked as an Executive Coach at Heidrick & Struggles and Arootah, helping clients develop new skills and achieve their goals. In 2020, Mark joined Simier Partners LLC as a Consulting Partner, where they provided strategic guidance to senior leaders and helped clients achieve their objectives. Mark Roy began their education in 1991 at UC San Diego, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Literature/Writing in 1996. In 2009, Mark attended Baruch College and completed a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in Marketing in 2012. Recently, in 2020, they received a Leadership and Executive Coaching Certification from Rutgers University. Mark further expanded their education in 2018 by attending Columbia University's Columbia Coaching Certification Program, specializing in Executive Coaching. Presently, Mark is pursuing a Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) degree in Human and Organizational Psychology at Touro University Worldwide, starting in 2022 and expected to finish in 2026.
In addition to their formal education, Mark has acquired additional certifications. Mark obtained the Hogan Assessment Certification from Hogan Assessments in November 2022 and became an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) through the International Coaching Federation in April 2023.
