Bill Barrett

Bill Barrett is currently the General Counsel at Arpeggio Bio. Prior to this, they were with GRAIL, Inc. from January 2016 to December 2019 where they served as the Legal & Intellectual Property Officer and Privacy Officer. Bill was responsible for developing legal and IP strategy, building and managing the IP team, drafting and negotiating agreements, and advising on all kinds of legal matters. Bill also led IP diligence for GRAIL's +$900 million Series B financing round and its merger with Cirina.

Before joining GRAIL, Bill Barrett was with Illumina from January 2013 to December 2016 as the Global Intellectual Property Manager. In this role, they were responsible for all aspects of intellectual property management, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights. Bill also managed the IP budget and advised on IP strategy.

Bill Barrett has a JD from Wake Forest University School of Law, a professional certificate in genetics and genomics from Stanford University, and a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of North Carolina at Asheville. Bill is also certified by the Supreme Court of Colorado in Colorado Bar, the United States Patent & Trademark Office in United States Patent Bar, and the North Carolina Bar in North Carolina Bar.
