James Mutamba

James Mutamba is a seasoned executive in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors, currently serving as Chief Business Officer at Arrakis Therapeutics since December 2021 and as a Board Fellow at Johnson & Johnson Innovation since May 2022. Previously, James held the positions of Vice President of Business & Corporate Development and Interim President at Pyxis Oncology from 2020 to December 2021. From January to 2020, James was a Board Observer at Twentyeight-Seven Therapeutics, and between 2018 and 2020, contributed as Principal at Longwood Fund and served in Board Observer roles for multiple companies. James co-founded Glyph Biosciences and Calix Biopharma, specializing in therapeutics, between 2016 and 2018. James holds a PhD in Biological Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a BS in Biochemistry from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
