Carol Christie Smit

Carol Christie Smit is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in various legal roles. Currently serving as Lead Counsel at Arrow Energy since April 2017, Carol has previously held positions such as Corporate Counsel at Rio Tinto from July 2011 to April 2017 and Senior Legal Counsel at Riversdale Mining from November 2008 to July 2011. Earlier career roles include Senior Associate and Legal Consultant at Mozlegal, Lda | Suimo Lda, as well as legal consultancy at José Caldeira & Associados, and KPMG. Carol began career as a lawyer at Banco Standard Totta de Mocambique. Academic qualifications consist of a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International Economic Law and International Trade Law from the University of London, along with Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degrees from The University of Auckland and the University of Edinburgh Law School.
