Zhao Xu

Zhao Xu is an accomplished scientist with extensive experience in the pharmaceutical and biomedical fields. Currently serving as Senior Director at Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals since April 2014, Zhao leads efforts in biology and chemistry with a focus on liver and extrahepatic targeting. Prior experience includes a role as Senior Research Biologist at Merck from January 2012 to December 2013, where contributions were made to RNA therapeutics and mechanistic studies for oligonucleotide efficacy. Zhao also worked as a Research Fellow at Harvard Medical School, where significant research on COUP-TFII and its role in adipogenesis and hedgehog signaling pathways was conducted. Academically, Zhao holds a PhD in Biochemistry from Boston University School of Medicine, along with a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Nanjing University.
