Ruth Bader is an accomplished professional with a background in communications and donor engagement. Currently serving as the Donor Stewardship Coordinator at the Commonwealth Foundation since June 2024, Ruth has also held multiple roles at ARS Treatment Centers, including Receptionist since July 2021, and at the United Way of the Capital Region, where Ruth worked as a Major Gifts Administrative Assistant and Communications and Donor Engagement Administrative Assistant from October 2020 to June 2024. Ruth holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications/Public Relations with a minor in Business Administration from the State University of New York at Oswego.

ARS believes in the philosophy of Harm Reduction, which is a public health strategy that was developed for individuals with substance abuse problems for whom abstinence was not feasible. Harm reduction approaches have been effective in reducing morbidity and mortality. Harm reduction is a strategy that aims to reduce the harms associated with certain behaviors. When applied to substance abuse there is a focus on reducing negative consequences, and aims to increase health, social and economic outcomes. (NIH, 2008)
