Hannah DeGarmo joined Art21 in September 2021 as the Manager of Digital Communications. Prior to working with Art21, Hannah worked in arts nonprofit administration and operations, as a social media and marketing consultant, and an independent filmmaker. Her recent film credits include directing, filming, and editing three mini documentary series on arts and culture in upstate New York produced by the Folklife Center at Crandall Public Library: From the Archives, Lake George on the Water (produced as the local component of an exhibition organized by the Smithsonian Institution), and Battenkill Inspired (supported by Champlain Valley National Heritage Partnership), through which she interviewed and filmed over two dozen artists and historians. Her article, “Two Minutes: The Making of the Battenkill Inspired Video Series,” was published in the spring-summer 2019 edition of Voices, the journal of New York Folklore.
Hannah recently directed her first independent video art production, “Cardinal,” and is currently editing In Search of Magical Waters, an Artful Vagabond Docuseries Film in post-production.
She holds a B.A. in Art and Art History from Colgate University and lives in Brooklyn, NY.
