Martin Schutten

Martin Schutten is the Chief Scientific Officer and founder of IQ-IDM, a biotech company focused on developing therapies for unmet medical needs by repurposing drugs with a known safety profile and clinical effect in men. He also holds the position of Chief Scientific Officer at Chimunomics LtD, where he provides consultancy services in human challenge trials and oversees the production process of new challenge agents. With a strong background in virology, Martin has experience in clinical research, trial design, diagnostic methods, and laboratory assessments. He has held various leadership roles in companies such as Clinical Virology and Diagnostics, Viroclinics Biosciences BV, and Erasmus MC, where he managed teams, developed diagnostic methods, and conducted research on HIV-1 vaccine development. Martin holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Medical Microbiology from Erasmus University Rotterdam and a Master's degree in Medical Biology from the University of Amsterdam.
