Michael Johanson

Michael Johanson is a highly experienced professional in the field of artificial intelligence, currently serving as Co-Founder of Artificial.Agency since April 2023. Previously, Michael was a Senior Research Scientist at DeepMind from July 2017 to March 2023, contributing to Multiagent Reinforcement Learning, Game Theory, and Human-Agent Interaction. Michael also has a background as a self-employed Rogue Game Theorist between June 2014 and June 2017 and worked as a Research Scientist at Cogitai, Inc. from September 2016 to April 2017. Michael earned a PhD in Computing Science with a focus on Artificial Intelligence from the University of Alberta, where the thesis addressed robust strategies in large imperfect information games. Michael holds a Master's and a Bachelor's degree in Computing Science, also from the University of Alberta, attained in 2007 and 2003, respectively.
