Smriti Joshi is a researcher at the Artificial Intelligence in Medicine Lab (BCN-AIM) since January 2021. Smriti completed a master thesis at Harvard University from February 2021 to July 2021 and gained valuable experience as an intern at XLIM and CSIR-CEERI, focusing on image acquisition and optical properties, respectively. Additionally, Smriti interned at CSIR-IMMT, studying the properties of polypyrrole. Smriti holds multiple Master's degrees in Image Processing and Computer Vision from Université de Bordeaux, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, and Pázmány Péter Katolikus Egyetem, alongside a Master of Science in Physics from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, completed in 2018.

Artificial Intelligence in Medicine Lab (BCN-AIM)
Our research group, BCN-AIM, aims to develop and demonstrate the next-generation of data science and artificial intelligence solutions for personalised medicine applications, in several fields such as cardiology, neurology, psychiatry and oncology. We are an international and multi-disciplinary team of 25 members and part of the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics at the University of Barcelona. Several large-scale H2020 projects (euCanSHare, EarlyCause & EuCanImage) & Horizon Europe (RadioVal & DataTools4Heart) are coordinated by our lab director, Karim Lekadir. He is also WP leader of others H2020 & Horizon Europe projects (LongITools, Youth-GEMs, Happy Mums). Karim was recently granted an ERC for his project on Inclusive Artificial Intelligence for Accessible Medical Imaging Across Resource-Limited Settings (AIMIX). Karim Lekadir is also general co-chair for MICCAI2024. We are already looking forward to organising the 27th International Conference on Medical Image Computing and Computer Assisted Intervention in Marrakesh, Morocco, Africa.
