Eric Acome

Eric Acome has a wealth of experience in the engineering field. Eric began their career in 2008 as a Summer Engineering Intern at Miller Machine and Tool Co, where they gained experience with CAD and measurement tools. In 2009, they worked as a Summer Engineering Intern at Fabritek Company, Inc, where they used CAD and Inventor knowledge to provide machine shop with annotated drawings, and performed reverse engineering to reproduce existing components for customers. From 2011 to 2013, Eric worked at ADC USA Inc as a Mechanical Engineer and Mechanical Design Engineer, and at BSA Mountain River Rangers as Program Director, leading 50 mile, week-long trips through New River Gorge National River in West Virginia. Eric also worked as a TA at Cornell Outdoor Education in 2013. From 2015 to 2018, Eric worked at University of Colorado Boulder as a PhD, Mechanical Engineering, researching artificial muscles for the next generation of robotics. Eric also worked as a Mechanical Engineer at Alpine Labs LLC during this time. Most recently, Eric has been working as Co-Founder & CTO at Artimus Robotics since 2018.

Eric Acome began their educational journey at John Handley, followed by Virginia Tech, where they earned a Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 2011. Eric then continued their studies at the University of Colorado Boulder, where they obtained a Master of Science - MS in Mechanical Engineering in 2018, and a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Mechanical Engineering in 2020.
