Karie Ryan

Karie Ryan has over 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry. Karie currently holds the position of Chief Nursing Officer at Artisight since May 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Philips as a Clinical Transformation Lead, Connected Care from August 2021 to May 2023. Before joining Philips, they served as a Senior Director of Innovation and Sr Director, Applied Clinical Informatics & EHR Optimization at Tenet Healthcare from May 2019 to July 2021 and June 2016 to August 2021, respectively. Karie also has experience as an Adjunct Faculty at the University of Central Florida and TN eCampus, where they have been teaching healthcare informatics and administration courses since August 2019. Karie previously held multiple roles at Health First, including VP of Application Services/CNIO from July 2014 to March 2016 and Chief Nursing Informatics Officer from April 2011 to March 2016. Karie started their career at Holmes Regional Medical Center in 1997, where they served as a Staff/Charge Nurse before being promoted to Nurse Manager of the Surgical/Trauma Progressive Care Unit in 1999. Karie later joined Palm Bay Hospital, where they held the positions of Director and Vice President of Nursing from May 2004 to April 2011. Throughout their career, Karie has demonstrated expertise in clinical informatics, healthcare administration, and nursing leadership.

Karie Ryan's education history starts in 1988 when they attended the Florida Institute of Technology, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. Karie completed their undergraduate studies in 1992. In 1995, Karie enrolled at Florida Atlantic University and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, completing their studies in 1997.

After working in the field for several years, Karie furthered their education by pursuing a Masters degree in Health Services Administration. From 2005 to 2007, they attended the University of St. Francis to complete their postgraduate studies.

In 2011, Karie decided to expand their knowledge in the healthcare industry and obtained a Certificate in Healthcare Informatics from the University of California - Davis Extension Campus. Karie completed this program in 2013.

Looking ahead, Karie has plans to pursue a Doctorate degree in Nursing Practice. Karie is set to begin their doctoral studies at Baylor University in 2022, with an expected completion date in 2024.
