Alex Sarian

Alex Sarian has extensive experience in arts, education, and community engagement. Alex is currently serving as President & CEO of Arts Commons since May 2020. Prior to that, they held the position of President & CEO Designate at Arts Commons from January 2020 to May 2020. Before joining Arts Commons, Alex worked at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. Alex served as Acting Executive Director from April 2018 to December 2019 and Senior Director from October 2017 to April 2018. Alex also worked as a Senior Strategist/Consultant at LaPlaca Cohen from April 2017 to January 2018. At Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, they held various roles including Director of Cultural Innovation Fund from April 2016 to April 2017, Director of Lincoln Center International from February 2016 to April 2017, and Director of Finance & Business Development from February 2013 to February 2016. In addition to their work in arts organizations, Alex has also taught as an Adjunct Professor at New York University from 2014 to 2016, Pace University - Lubin School of Business from January 2015 to December 2015, and City University of New York City College from 2014 to 2015. Alex has also served as Faculty at the National Guild for Community Arts Education Leadership Institute in 2014. Alex's passion for education and community engagement is reflected in their previous role as Director of Education & Community Engagement at MCC Theater from October 2010 to February 2013 and their position as Advanced Programs instructor at Urban Arts Partnership from September 2009 to October 2010.

Alex Sarian has a diverse education history. In 2007, they obtained a Master of Arts (MA) degree from New York University.
