Teaching Artist at ArtsConnection

Ally Thomas is a dedicated teaching artist and education professional with extensive experience in performing and fine arts education. At ArtsConnection, Ally focuses on elementary-level performing arts, including puppetry, while concurrently working as an artist instructor at the Children's Museum of the Arts, specializing in fine arts disciplines such as sculpting and stop motion animation. Other roles include serving as a direct support professional at Braverhood, providing community habilitation services, and acting as venue manager for The 52nd Street Project, where responsibilities include event logistics and coordination. Formerly, Ally held the position of interim education director at Florida Repertory Theatre, supervised over 150 students in junior musicals, and has substantial experience in theatre production and community engagement across various organizations, including American Stage Theatre Company and Tampa Repertory Theatre. Ally holds a Master of Fine Arts in Theatre from Sarah Lawrence College and a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from Samford University.

ArtsConnection is a nationally recognized non-profit arts education organization with a 40-year history of giving New York City public school students, pre-kindergarten through grade 12, the skills, motivation and positive reinforcement they need to succeed academically and personally. Our award-winning arts programs support literacy and foster communication, creativity, collaboration and critical thinking.
