David Moore has a diverse work experience in the field of community engagement, placemaking, and urban planning. David is currently working as the Director of Community Engagement at Artspace, a position they have held since 2022. Previously, they worked as the Placemaking + Activations Manager at Downtown Raleigh Alliance from 2019 to 2021.
From 2014 to 2019, David served at NewTown Macon, where they held roles such as Project Manager and Urban Planning Fellow. In these positions, they led placemaking and programming efforts, implemented revitalization projects, managed partnerships with local government and organizations, and conducted various studies to enhance downtown Macon's public space and connectivity.
Before this, David worked as an intern at Dixon Township, OH, where they created an online interactive map of a historic cemetery using ArcGIS. David also served as an intern at Miami University Office of Institutional Relations, creating maps representing student and alumni populations, and at the Bronzeville Historical District, researching cultural tourism and advocating for historic preservation efforts.
David's early career also includes a role as a Planning Intern at Butler County Department of Planning, where they oversaw zone changes and conducted research on increasing recreation in Lemon Township, OH.
Overall, David Moore has a strong background in community engagement, placemaking, and urban planning, with extensive experience in project management, research, and partnership management.
David Moore attended Miami University from 2009 to 2014. David pursued a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree with a focus on Urban and Regional Planning, as well as American Studies.
