Oami Powers currently serves as the Conservation Coordinator at the North Carolina Museum of Art, a position held since September 2024. Prior experience includes the role of Programs and Accessibility Coordinator at ArtspaceNC from April 2022 to August 2024, where significant contributions included the implementation of digital filing systems, managing exhibition documentation, and introducing accessibility initiatives like braille translations and sensory tours. Oami's background also encompasses project and office management roles at Designbox LLC, coordinating financial reporting, human resources tasks, and client communication. Previous positions include Project Coordinator for the Art2Wear event at NCSU College of Design, as well as various design roles at Artspace, Judah Ross, The Mahler Fine Art, and modaspia. Oami holds a BA in Art History and Classics from the University of Canterbury.

Artspace is a non-profit visual arts center located in Downtown Raleigh.
