Robert Townend

Robert Townend has over 20 years of work experience in various finance and accounting roles. Robert is currently the VP Controller at Artsy since 2018. Prior to that, they served as the Corporate Controller at Telx from 2013 to 2017. From 2006 to 2013, they held multiple roles at American Express including Vice President, Global Business Services Controller, Vice President, Global Supply Management Controller, and Vice President, Real Estate Controller. Before joining American Express, Robert worked as the Vice President, Director of Accounting at Interpublic Group of Companies from 2004 to 2006. Robert began their career at Deloitte & Touche, LLP, where they worked as a Senior Manager in Assurance and Advisory Services from 1997 to 2004. Robert also has prior military experience as a Naval Communications System Manager in the US Navy from 1991 to 1995.

Robert Townend has a Masters degree in Accountancy from the University of North Florida. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration and Economics from Virginia Military Institute.
