Michele Pittini

Michele Pittini is an experienced economist with a strong background in leading economic analysis within governmental organizations. At the Greater London Authority from December 2017 to December 2021, Michele served as Senior Economist and Head of GLA Economics, overseeing a team dedicated to examining London’s economic challenges. Prior to this, Michele was Deputy Director and Head of HS2 Analysis at the Department for Transport, where a robust analytical program for High Speed Rail 2 was developed. Additional roles include Deputy Director at Defra, focusing on natural capital accounting and climate change policy, and Senior Economic Adviser at the UK Committee on Climate Change, notably contributing to key reports on low carbon economy and aviation. Recently, Michele has been working as an Associate Director at Arup since January 2022. Educational credentials include a Master's degree in Environmental and Resource Economics from UCL.
