David Layton

David Layton is an accomplished Industrial Manufacturing Engineer with extensive experience in laboratory operations and engineering management. Currently employed at ARUP Laboratories since March 2009, David has served in key roles including Project Engineer and Automation Engineer, where leadership in large-scale specimen processing and delivery automation has been demonstrated. Previously, a Supervisor in Improvement Engineering, David played a pivotal role in establishing a Lean Six Sigma culture. Additional experience includes positions at Select Comfort Corp. as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer and at Ultradent Products, Inc. as a Senior Manager. David began a career at Boeing Commercial Airplanes focusing on manufacturing engineering and operations technology. Educational credentials include a Master of Science in Operations Management from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Brigham Young University.
