In this role, they handled various responsibilities such as estimating, surveying, designing, bidding, and inspecting engineering projects. Joe also oversaw the work performed by consultants and contractors.

In 2008, Joe worked as an Engineering Intern at Ann Arbor Water Treatment Facility, gaining valuable experience in the field. Joe started their career as a Lab Assistant at Lansing Board of Water & Light from 2004 to 2007.

Joe Eastman, P.E. obtained their Bachelor's degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering from Michigan Technological University from 2004 to 2006. Joe also holds a Professional Engineering License from NCEES, which they obtained in December 2014. In addition to their academic qualifications, they have additional certifications including an S-1 Water System Distribution Operator and Storm Water Operator, both obtained from MDEQ.
