Mary Smid holds multiple advanced degrees, including a Master of Science in Instructional Design and Technology from Full Sail University and a Master's Degree in Special Education from the University of Colorado. With extensive experience in various educational roles, Mary serves as an ArtStart Instructor at the Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities, focusing on engaging toddlers and their parents through interactive songs and activities. Mary is also the owner of the Horse/Academic Enrichment Program, where the integration of horses into learning fosters empowerment and confidence in children. Additionally, Mary has experience in retail sales, entrepreneurship, and educational consulting, actively contributing to the community through innovative educational strategies and various enrichment programs.

Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities

The Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities offers its patrons the opportunity to develop an improved understanding of themselves and their environment through a direct experience with the arts. The Arvada Center offers theatrical performances, galleries and arts education opportunities for its patrons through a direct connection to the Arts. We produce at least seven theatrical performances a year, several concerts in our outdoor ampitheater and offer hundreds of art education classes for children and adults. We also have three galleries within the premises that exhibit local artists as well as traveling exhibitions, collaborations and permanent installations.
