Conrad MacKerron has a rich and diverse work experience spanning over multiple decades. Conrad began their career as a Reporter and Editor at BNA Inc. from 1983 to 1987. Following this, they served as the Washington Bureau Chief at Chemical Week (now IHS Chemical Week) from 1987 to 1990. Conrad then joined Investor Responsibility Research Center as a Senior Analyst in Energy & Environment from 1990 to 1992.
In 1992, MacKerron became the Director of Social Research at Progressive Asset Management, where they worked until 1997. Conrad then joined Philanthropic & Social Investment Consulting, Piper Jaffray Inc. as a Senior Social Research Analyst. Finally, in 2002, they joined As You Sow as the Senior Vice President, where their work involves encouraging thought leaders at publicly traded companies to implement stronger social and environmental practices through shareholder advocacy. Their expertise lies in areas such as toxics reduction, recycling, labor rights, supply chain code of conduct compliance, and human rights.
Conrad MacKerron pursued their education at the New College of Florida from 1973 to 1977, where they graduated with a degree in Humanities with a focus on Journalism. Following this, they attended the American University from 1980 to 1981, where they earned a Master's degree in Journalism and Public Affairs.
