Shelley D. White

Shelley is a highly accomplished, nonprofit executive with over 30 years of demonstrated, successful leadership, significantly improving the financial viability and contributing to the growth of each organization she has served. Prior to becoming the President and CEO for Ascend Nonprofit Solutions, she served in a dual role as the organization’s Executive Director and CFO for three years, and as CFO for two years. Shelley also spent nine years as the CFO for United Way of Greater Charlotte, and for Conway Medical Center prior to that, and spent the initial part of her career in public accounting. As a CPA and nonprofit leader, Shelley has been an advocate for efficiency and service excellence, and a champion of collaboration.

Shelley graduated summa cum laude from Rochester Institute of Technology with a degree in Business Administration and major in Accounting. She is an American Leadership Forum Fellow and a graduate of the Center For Creative Leadership and Third Sector Leadership programs. She also is a member of the Mecklenburg Executive Collaborative and has been a member of the Children’s Alliance leadership team for several years.
