Carina Gomez

Carina Gomez, ATR-BC, LCAT, CASAC, is an experienced professional in the fields of art therapy and substance abuse counseling. Currently serving as a Utilization Review and Compliance Specialist, Compliance Consultant, and Creative Arts Therapist at Ascendant New York since June 2018, Carina previously held the position of Substance Abuse Counselor at the New York City District Council of Carpenters Benefit Funds from March 2019 to November 2021. Prior experience includes roles as a Creative Arts Therapist and Substance Abuse Counselor at Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens and as an Art Therapy Intern at Bellevue Hospital Center. Carina holds a Master of Professional Studies in Art Therapy, Addictionology from the School of Visual Arts and dual Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology, Art, and Cognitive Science from the University of Delaware.
