Michael Dr Knaupp has had a diverse work experience. Michael started with Foracon in 1995 as an R&D Engineer and worked there until 1998. From 1999 to 2002, they worked as an R&D Engineer for Flow Europe. Michael then joined Flow International in 2003 and worked there until 2015, primarily in a role titled "Entwicklung." In 2015, they joined AIP/Aerospace Holdings, LLC as the Director of Research Development for the Ascent Integration and Automation Group.

Michael Dr Knaupp obtained their Diplom in Maschinenwesen from Technische Universität Stuttgart from 1979 to 1984. Michael then pursued further education at the same university, earning a Doctor of Mechanical Engineering degree in Maschinenbau from 1984 to 1989.
