Ascent Flight Training
Ashley Hubbard is a highly experienced Qualified Helicopter Instructor with a career spanning several decades in military and civilian aviation. Currently serving at Ascent Flight Training since March 2021, Ashley instructs on the Eurocopter H135 within the UK MFTS programme, covering a broad range of disciplines including advanced rotary handling techniques and tactical flying. Prior to this role, Ashley worked with Inzpire Ltd and the British Army, providing instruction on the Wildcat AH1 and Squirrel AS350, while also contributing as a Maintenance Test Pilot and Aircraft Commander. Ashley holds various aviation qualifications, including an ATPL(H), and has extensive training from recognized institutions including Bristol Groundschool and the Central Flying School. A foundation in mechanical engineering in the British Army further emphasizes a robust technical understanding of helicopter operations.

Ascent is the training design and delivery organisation appointed as the UK MOD’s Training Service Partner. Our sole purpose is to provide the Military Flying Training System for the UK’s Armed Forces. We provide this through a unique partnering arrangement with Royal Air Force No 22 (Training) Group and the UKMFTS Project Team from DE&S.
