John Cafferty

John Cafferty is a seasoned IT professional with extensive experience in leadership roles across various organizations. Currently serving as Head of IT at Ascentis AO since April 2024, John previously held the position of IT Director at Magenta Living from July 2020 to November 2023 and Group Head of IT at One Manchester from October 2015 to July 2020. Prior to these roles, John was Head of IT at UK General Insurance Group, where responsibilities included developing an IT strategy aligned with business goals and overseeing multiple IT teams. John's career also includes a significant tenure as Global Head of IT at Victrex plc, managing IT operations for over 650 colleagues globally. Early in their career, John served as General Manager and Computer Manager at Lawtons Ltd, demonstrating versatility in management and strategic project implementation. Educated at the University of Cambridge and Leeds University, John holds a BA (Hons) in Natural Sciences and pursued PhD studies in the History of Science.
