Crystal Schaeffer

Crystal Schaeffer is a highly experienced professional with a diverse background in security management, education, and analysis. Currently serving as a Faculty Associate at Arizona State University since March 2021, Crystal also operates as a self-employed stay-at-home parent since 2016 and has held the position of Senior Principal Analyst at Aviation Systems Engineering Company since November 2014. With a longstanding role as a Security Specialist for the U.S. Navy since 2008, Crystal manages program security and develops policies for compliance with security requirements. Prior experience includes teaching high school science courses as a teacher for Stafford County Public Schools from 2004 to 2008. Crystal holds a PhD and Master of Science in Biodefense from George Mason University and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Virginia Tech.
