İlker Altay

Principal Engineer, Unmanned & Autonomous Systems at Aselsan

İlker Altay has extensive work experience in the field of autonomous systems and mechatronics. İlker started their career as a Research Assistant at Istanbul Technical University in 2005 and worked there until 2013. İlker then joined Okan University as an Assistant Professor from 2014 to 2017, during which they also served as a Part-Time Lecturer. In 2017, İlker joined AVL as a Senior Autonomous Driving Development Engineer and worked there until 2019. From 2020 to 2022, they worked at BMC Otomotiv San. ve Tic. A.Ş. as the Autonomous Vehicle Systems Software Team Leader. Currently, İlker works at Aselsan as a Principal Research Engineer, focusing on Unmanned & Autonomous Systems.

İlker Altay received a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Istanbul Technical University. İlker later pursued a Master's degree in the same field at the same university. Subsequently, İlker completed their education by obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree from Istanbul Technical University. Additionally, they hold certifications in C++ Programming for Experienced Engineers from Educative, Inc. and a self-driving car engineer nanodegree from Udacity.
