Pearl Esua-Mensah is the Chairman of Ashesi University and a business leader with over 20 years of experience in banking and finance at the senior management level. Pearl has also vast experience leading and consulting for businesses across multiple sectors in Ghana and abroad.
Esua-Mensah started their career in finance, holding various senior positions including Director of Finance and Administration at UT Financial Services, Group Financial Accountant at Parity Group Plc, and Group Reporting Accountant at Kantar Group. In 2009, they became the Deputy Managing Director of UT Bank and played a pivotal role in growing UT Financial Services into one of Ghana's fastest-growing full-fledged universal banks. Pearl left UT Bank in 2015 to start Feniks Ltd, a business consulting firm that supports medium-sized and small businesses.
In October 2017, Esua-Mensah was appointed as the Group CEO of Media General, Ghana's leading media and communications company that owns and operates TV3, 3FM, Onua FM, Connect FM, Akoma FM, and MG Digital Ltd. Under their leadership, Media General has become Ghana's leading media and communications company.
Esua-Mensah is a Founding and Executive Council member of the Executive Women Network, a non-profit organisation committed to providing a platform for women to achieve their professional goals, to be influential, and to fully realise their potential. Pearl is also the Board Chairperson of Ashes
