Mark Dickerson currently serves as the Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources at Asheville City Schools, a position held since July 2015, and has also taken on roles in Curriculum and Instruction and Administration within the same district. Previous experience includes leadership positions in various school systems as Director of Teacher Recruitment & Induction in Alamance-Burlington and Human Resources Employment Coordinator in Orange County Schools. An educator since 1995, Mark began a career teaching 2nd and 3rd grades and progressed through various administrative roles, including Principal and Assistant Principal. Mark holds a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership and Administration from Virginia State University and has degrees from both Virginia State University and Virginia Union University.
